Grooms Bedroom
On the 17th August my brother-in-law had gotten married and as you do in asian families you go all out with the house decor and food etc so I decided I'm not gona go all out but I'le be doing some house decor and the grooms bedroom always needs to be the first on the list to do. Ile be leaving images below of the house decor that I did manage to do and what I did on them.
The first place I started off was with the grooms bedroom because thats the room where the bride will come and make her comfort zone. So my brother-in-laws bedroom is a nice square shape which makes decor simple and easily imaginable. I had visioned how I wanted the room to look and so I just went out to Queens market, Green St in London and bought 3 rolls or fabrics. I bought rolls just so that I don't run out half way through etc and the left overs can easily be used at another occasion so I didn't see it as waste. I used red, white and light gold fabric colours to complete the house decor and for this room. So all I did for this room is worked on the ceiling. Having the light being right at the centre of the room just made things so much easier for me. On each side of the wall I measured from the light to one side of the wall. Whatever measurement I got I added an extra 10 inch to that measurement so that the fabric dips slightly. I would then use a staple gun and staple from the light to the wall letting the fabric dip so basically I'm not tightly taking the fabric to the wall side, I'm leaving this slight dip which you'd be able to see from a side angle.
I also bought a new light shade which honestly made a huge difference to the look of the room. This light shade I purchased from Dunelm Mill. It also comes in black but I chose to get the white one. The black one looks beautiful and I can imagine it in a room with purples and silver.

I got this glass bowl from Dunelm Mill which is looking dirty on this pic. I should have washed it really. These images have been taken couple of days after the wedding day. I ordered these red floating candles from ebay for really cheap. These candles were lit up just before the bride came into her bedroom and it sets this beautiful romantic atmosphere. Candles are the most easiest and effective way to add a calm atmosphere to any room and looks beautiful too.
Living Room
I decorated one side of the living room and the side I decorated was where the bride and groom would be sitting on the sofa so I just created a background for photography purpose. Although this decor looks rather simple it took me a lot of time. I measured the wall first and split it into 6 and got my measurement for the fabrics. For each fabric I cut I added an extra 20 inch so that the material gathers slightly. I then used a staple gun to hang these fabrics up. I went onto doing the red drapes and did 6 of those to go over each colour fabric.
To enhance the look of the wall I had bought 6 hanging decor that are long and just added them under the red drapes. The hanging decors cost me £3 each and I had purchased them from a party shop on Green st, London.
So there you have it, wedding house decor that I did. I wonder what state the walls are in :-/
Chat to you all soon xoxo
