Okai so when the matte nails came out I loved the idea of it and so on but when it came down to wearing it I didn't love it so much the way I thought I would. Now I see the velvet nail polish and I picked up this velvet nail polish by Sally Hansen which I noticed was new in the range and got that home with me because of the velvety flow that was going through me when I saw the name and the packaging. I actually love how the packing screams velvety, well no so much velvety but the label is matte. The actual glass bottle is frosted giving this matte effect and looks pretty. It's a nice simple sleek shape and makes the nail polish look ten times better. I imagine these types of bottle very easy to store away because I know I have issues trying to store my round bottles away in a neat compact way.
Getting down to the real business! Am I dissapointed again, afraid so. This nail polish really doesnt feel good on the nails and kind of has a roughness to it. I mean of course I don't expect it to be super smooth like the glossy ones but I don't expect it to be rough neither. The colour on the other hand I love so much. The good thing about this nail polish is that it is hard wearing. It lasts a good amount on the nails and I do alot of washing up so I'm proud of the lasting power of not chipping. I hate nail polishes that chip so quickly, worst thing ever! I'm gona actually try this again and going to complete this post after I have given it another go. So just to let you know I am writing this part of the post today which is the 21st Feb. When I get back to you after I have tried it again, I shall tell you how I feel the second time round. Lets hope I like it. Oh by the way, my son Zain has turned 4 months today.. Time flies :-)
Im tuning in again on 31st March, 2015. I gave this polish another go but this time I buffed my nails etc and it did work a little better but sadly I pretty much feel the same way as I did the first time applying this nail polish. I shall maybe give up on matte/velvet nail polishes as they all seem to give a not so beautiful finish or is it that I'm not liking the actual matte finish!? Well thats something for me to figure out. Ile chat to you at my next post.
Love y'all xoxo
