Now the talk of marriage is something I will be talking about today but please bear in mind I am no expert in this as I have only been married for just over a year but this book was one of the books I read before I got married. I didn't read this book as a guide to get me along with my marriage but I read this to find out things I may not be aware of etc.
Having read this book I gained so much knowledge on things I never knew about as well as how to deal with my marriage when things popped up. From the image below where I have shown you the chapters within this book, it shows that there is some interesting topics to look into and I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly. The author of this book is called Ruqaiyyah Waris Maqsood. This book won;t only come handy before getting married but whilst your married too. It's almost like a guidance book where I like to look back at it and refresh my memory as well as my life with my beloved. A marriage without Islam is like a phone without battery. It simply won't work!
I want to share how I feel about marriage and how to make things work between both partners. It's always good to start with a common bond which should be the bond through prayers. For more basic ways to make your marriage work is firstly understanding the grounds of where you both stand. There always needs to be the necessity of compromising within a marriage. A couple where they think they are better than one another means that they are treading the complete wrong path. No one is better than no one. We are all equal and when that is fixed in your head then your path will seem a lot clearer and easier to walk on.
When I first stepped into my marriage I found it hard to deal with certain things, things that are really really small but a good way to go about it is not get irritated by it but talk about it and remind your other half constantly how that habit needs to be out. The reminder of course needs to be done in a loving way. One of the biggest point I would like to focus on are your in-laws. My marriage has been quite easy for me for many reasons but one of them is because I have mentally taken my in-laws as my own family as though they are blood related which believe me is something that is important to do if your wanting the hubby happy as well as the people you are living with. It's as simple as that! Oh gosh I feel as though I have so much to say but I just don't know where to start from. I guess I will leave it here for now but I would definitely recommend that you have a good read of this book. It is a lovely book and a good start to your new life.
