Royally Good Box
liz Earle Beauty Co Cleanse & Polish + Muslin Cloth
WHAT - This award winning, beauty-editor favourite. two-step cleansin system leaves skin nourished and glowing.
HOW - Massage cleanser into dry skin then buff away with the (dampened) muslin cloth.
A big fat EEEEEEEE! I use this baby already and currently using it. This Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser is currently fitted into my night time routine so this is what I use to wash my face at night although I use the Emma Hardy cloth to wash it off with rather than the Liz Earle one that they give with this cleanser. The Liz earle muslin cloth is so thin and just feels really floppy. I am so happy that I got this in my box because I will be going on holiday in May and I have been looking really hard on ways to minimise my products to sample sizes and now I have this at such a perfect time as well. I do love this cleanser because it is very gentle on the skin and the fragrance is minimal but I don't use this when I have had a full face of make-up on which isn't often. I like using an oily cleanser for my make-up days just because it will take off all the dirt and stubborn colours without much tugging on the skin but this Liz Earle cleanser certainly gets my thumbs up.
The price of this is £14.
Percy & Reed London Smoothed, Sealed & Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil
WHAT - The star product of this amazing range by celebrity hair dressers Paul Percival and Adam Reed, this oil tames hair without weighing it down.
HOW - Work into palms of hands and smooth into the mid-lengths & ends of hair
I haven't used the oil as of yet but does sound very good and as I'm an oil person I'm looking very forward to using it. The sample size of this is very generous and travel friendly too so this will be another of my products that I shall be taking on holiday with me to size down.
Lola Barcelona Nail Polish
WHAT - Created exclusively with Lola Barcelona for this month's box, this vibrant coral shade reminds us of Spanish sunsets!
HOW - Start with a base coat, then apply two coats of polish to the nail, follow with topcoat.
I love this colour that they have brought out especially for this box. Most certainly suitable for this weather although looking outside the window now is giving me a downer! What is it about the weather that just livens me up and adds an extreme amount of energy into my body but then you get the rainy days which makes me feel deadly. British weather to blame for my mood swings! I have used this shade and I applied 2 coats of this along with a clear top coat so it doesn't chip quickly. It does last a fair well which means 2-3 days but bear in my I do lots of washing up.
Pommade Divine Nature's Remedy Balm
WHAT - Already creating quite a stir in the beauty industry, this multi-purpose, 97% natural, balm repairs and nourishes troublesome areas in a flash.
HOW - Apply liberally to any problem spots, and reapply as needed.
Now balms are one thing that always gets my eyes opened and this particular one smells divine. I love how this smells, just has this semi-sweetness in it. I have used this on my hands and on my lips and it's a little liquidy but not in a way where it's runny. You need the most tiniest amount for the lips. It does a pretty good job in moisturising on the dry areas so in-between my thumb and finger theres a really dry patch which I hate and this balm keeps that area moisturised.
Define Warming Clay Mask
WHAT - A range of products inspired by food, this heart self-heating mask contain the powerful antioxidant, pomegranate, to detox skin.
HOW - Smooth onto damp skin, leave for 5-10 mins (the warm sensation is a good thing!) and since.
I still haven't used this mask but sure does sound very interesting. I have only once used a mask that has a warm sensation to it and it felt so good. I love the fruit pomegranate too so thats a plus in this mask. As I am a mask lover (2 x a week) I will most probably give this a go over this week sometime and I will tell you all about it. Maybe I can combine a post together for review of samples1? Don't know yet lets see how it all plans out.
Laura Mercier Mascara
WHAT - Laura Mercier Mascara
HOW - Sweep onto lashes
I have to make sure I apply a good coat of this because if this is a good then this will be my hand bag saviour. I remember writing a post stating how I'm not so much into mascaras and now I will say I am stepping into the mascara world and seeing the beauty of it now especially because I have plenty of no eyeliner days. Sorry I can't give my thoughts on this mini Laura Mercier mascara right now but I will try it and let you know what I think of it soon enough.
The Original Birchbox
Vita Coco Coconut Oil
WHAT - Use as a moisturiser, hair treatment, smoothie ingredient and more!
HOW - Experiment! Work it into both your beauty routine and kitchen repertoire.
100% raw Coconut Oil. What a sample size. Oh my! Am I getting excited already or what!? I cannot express of how much in need of a coconut oil I was in. Coconut oil is well known to be lucsious for the hair to keep it nourished and strong too. I have always heard and read upon the amazingness of coconut oil but it's just been one of those things where I havn't bought it yet, ile buy it soon enough and never got round to doing it. Glad I didn't because I got this in my box. I have to say this months Birchbox's have made me sooo happy with lots of things I would be using for the price of £12.95.. No complaints from me!
Birch box have actually given a quirky card along with the box stating a few a ways they would use this coconut oil so here they are below.
1. BATH BLISS - Melt 1/4 of a cup and add it to a warm bath for a sweet-smelling soak that nourishes skin.
2. REMOVE MAKE-UP - Use it as a all natural eye make-up remover - with the added bonus that it makes your lashes stronger.
3. BOOST YOUR ENERGY - Add a teaspoonful to your coffee in the morning for a natural energy boost that will have you ready to face any day!
4. SOFTEN HANDS & FEET - Use it as a cuticle oil or on rough/cracked heels for softer skin. It's also great for elbows.
5. HOME-CINEMA SNACK - Mix coconut oil with butter and then shake it up with your popcorn for a delicious topping.
6. HAIR RESCUER - Warm a 5p-size amount in your hands and work through the ends with fingers to smooth away split ends.
Out of all the tips they have given I think number 1 sounds brilliant as I am a big bath fan. Number 2 is also a good tip that includes stronger lashes and I have also heard that coconut oil lengthens your lashes so if you apply some at night before bed every night maybe you'l have longer lashes too. Number 3 isn't something I will ever try.. sorry! Number 4 I have tried and boy it makes everything so soft. If I wore coconut oil every night on my hand and wore gloves, I guarantee my husband will notice them and I will also receive a joyful compliment. Number 5 will also be something I won't be trying anytime soon. Finally number 6 is obviously one that I will be trying 100%.
Electric Hair Hydrate Shampoo
WHAT - Boost moisture and restore shine with this ultra-hydrating shampoo.
HOW - Massage into your hair, concentrating on the roots, and rinse out.
I am currently using Ojon Damage Reverse shampoo and conditioner and yeah they are a little on the pricey side especially because I had never forked out on shampoo but I have so many good things to say about the range. I mean it saved my hair! Again this shampoo is a lovely sample size and it states boost moisture and restore shine. That is definitely something my hair lacks in because of all the damaging treatments it's had. I haven't tried this yet but again once I try it I shall get back to you.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
WHAT - Skin will be glowing thanks to this radiance boosting, oil-free formula.
HOW - After cleansing, before moisturising, smooth a thin layer onto your face.
I have given this a shot already, of course not enough but so far it's okay. I won't say it's anything special for me. It's quite liquidy first and comes out white but quickly absorbs into skin ready for the next step. I find it drying on the skin and felt like nothing was on my skin after a minute or so. I didn't notice a glow either in the morning but that could come overtime though. I personally wasn't a huge fan of this just because I like my serums slightly more moisturising than this.
London Butterflies Whipped Body Cream
WHAT - A fragrant lotion bursting with jasmine, starflower and almond oil
HOW - Slather on from top-to-toe for blissful hydration
Sorry guys can't comment on this although whipped cream , sorry I meant whipped body cream sounds rather satisfying! Have to say how amazingly well they have done with the sample sizes. This really isn't much of a sample size though at 30ml but it is a birch box exclusive.
theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac
WHAT - Add a pop of long lasting colour top lips and cheeks with this gel stain
HOW - Swipe onto your lips like a gloss, or dot onto cheeks and blend
This is supposed to be a stainer for the lips and cheeks in the shade Beauty Queen. I gave this a shot and for the cheeks I feel this is too patchy. The thing is that your gonna work so hard to get a lovely looking base and then you add this stainiac for a tint but I feel as though it's not easy to blend out well. It stays in one area. You can't tell that theres an edge to the tint so it doesn't look weird or out of place. For me this tint isn't a great pop of colour for my skin tone for cheeks however on the lips it doesn't look so bad but I think £10 for this when I could probably make a nice tint with my lipsticks by dabbing on ever so lightly. When applied on the lips it doesn't feel sticky or such like some lip stains do and I hate that feeling. I guess if your not a lipstick wearer and want just a small amount of lush colour not he lips then this will most certainly fulfil your job.
Eye Fat Eye Stick
WHAT - Your smokey eye just got easy as 1-2-3 with this bronze jumbo pencil
HOW - Glide along lash line for definition, or smudge for a smokey statement
This eyeko eyeshadow stick isn't a favourite of mine. I have tested this out at the back of hand and why it isnt a fav is because it lacks in pigmentation. The application of it is quite slippery too. Although the colour is showing up on here it's because I have done several rubs at the back of my hand for the colour to show up. I can imagine it sort of working as a light tint on the lids but ide be sure to apply a primer prior to applying this so it latches on because this doesn't seem like it was stay for long on the lids. I will most likely use it for the no make-up make-up days.
That was a very long post on these Birchboxes. Anyway hope your all doing well. I have to go now and be a mummy and a housewife. xx
