5 Things I have in hand for Ramadan
EEEEEeeeee! RAMADAN MUBARAK MY AMAZING BROTHERS & SISTERS.
I would like to first of all wish you all the very best for this coming month and that you all stay in good health and iman.
I wanted to do a quick post on how I have prepared for my ramadan this month and how I intend to spend most of my time in the remembrance of Allah in different ways. After reading the book Ameenas Ramadan Diary which I had read a little while ago as a guide to prepare for ramadan, I then thought I could share how I have prepared for this ramadan and the book had really helped me take these following steps. Here is the link to that post. (http://www.hijabizpeaceup.com/home/have-you-prepared-for-ramadan-yet)
For my ramadan to go as successful as possible and attain as much rewards as I possibly can I have decided to keep a structure for the whole 30 days so lets see what are those 5 things I have in hand for ramadan.

I visited an Islamic shop on green street in London called Islamic Impressions which is a great store where they sell many books, Qur'ans, jilbabs, cd's etc. I bought myself 2 books that I would like to read throughout my days. I also had a book at home that was gifted to me by a friend as part of my wedding gift and I never got round to reading that book so I will be reading that book too. I have chosen my books already and if I manage to read all of them before the 30 days then I will choose another to read. The hours are very long before sunset arrives so I will have plenty to read. Reading books of different kinds is always an interesting thing so I have 3 of different kinds, all from which you can gain knowledge from but one of the book is specifically to do with praying. Surprisingly many of us are not aware of how to pray, although we think we do! It's always good to go back on a book following how to pray according to the sunnah and to avoid any mistakes which makes the prayer invalid.

Dhikr! The tasbih is such a great way to carry with you or leave in front of your eyes so it's not forgotten about and that way you are able to do dhikr which means remembering Allah. Doing your tasbih is the most easiest and best way to distract yourself from the world and place yourself in the remembrance of Allah so that your facing reality and leaving the world on silent. Infact if you only have one tasbih, you can leave that one at home so you never forget to do dhikr and these days almost everyone owns a smart phone/iphone so I have an app that I found and I initially downloaded that app for the adhaan but theres more to this app. You have your tasbih on this app too so counting your short sentences glorifying Allah is right on your phone so when your on the go you can still do dhikr once you get a little moment in hand. How cool is that right!? By the way the adhaan on this app is at it's full length and the voice is so beautiful so you best get that downloaded. This is the app name. Athan.

I have created a ramadan checklist according to what I am capable of doing considering the time I may have in my hand and of course I have pushed myself to do as much as I possibly can within a day. I have already done a day of ramadan and the checklist is working out great for me. I couldn't put a tick on all of them which means that today I will have to change my routine up a bit and try and get all the boxes ticked InshaAllah. I definitely recommend you guys to do something similar and when you look at your ticked boxes each day you know you have achieved something great!

Reading the Qur'an at this time of the year is number one. The Qur'an had been sent down on this month of ramadan to guide the mankind with a clear path hence why it is very important that I read the Qur'an as much as I can and I have kept an aim to complete reading the Qur'an once on this month and with the help of Allah I know I will be able to succeed. I will also start reading the english translation of the Qur'an so that I get a better understanding of what the verses are implying. On my checklist above I have aimed to complete 1 para per day so that by the end of the 30 days of ramadan I have completed the full 30 paras.

When I took my little visit to Islamic Impressions I also picked up some miswaks which is a twig made from the salvador a persica tree and it is used to clean your teeth. Using the miswak is a sunnah as our prophet (phuh) had often used the miswak regularly to clean his teeth so I intend on using my miswak to give my teeth a little clean in the morning and throughout the days of fasting. My husband will also be keeping his miswak in hand too. Maybe you guys could go grab a couple of miswaks for your family and tell them why miswak is a good thing to use for cleansing your teeth. Not only did out prophet (pbuh) use a miswak but the miswak provides so many beneficial factors to protect our teeth i.e. kills bacteria causing gum disease, removes bad breath and odours from the mouth.
So i've come to the end of my 5 things I have in hand for ramadan. I hope that this post helps some of you guys to do better for the sake of Allah ❤
