So my lovelies.. It's that time of the year where those of you who fast for the 30 days during Ramadan will be excited and surely preparing. For the last 2 years I've had this book called Ameena's Ramadan Diary written by Sara Kabil & Abubakr El-banna. This book is basically about a girl named Ameena who starts a diary where she starts preparing for ramadan and writes how each day of her ramadan has gone by and it includes Ayats and Ahadiths. The book is full of brilliant hints and tips on how to go about Ramandan. Within this book there is also a Ramadan Daily checklist which I have to say is a good idea to do for yourself.
There is roughly about less than 3 weeks left till Ramadan and this is the time where I start preparing myself. I think it's really important that you take time out and make yourself a list or checklist like the way on this book and I guess this book had inspired me a lot more on creating a checklist every year for me to follow. Why it's important to take that little time out to prepare because as you know during Ramadan, it's the best 30 days of the year where you want to treat everyday like you want to win the race. The month is packed with Barakah and honestly why miss a day of making the most of it. Living our everyday life we all have other things to do like working outside of your home, looking after your children's, studying etc so we cannot spend all hours on praying but what you could do is prior to Ramadan, work out what you will be doing monday to sunday like which days you have to commit your hours to certain things then write your checklist for which days you can do what.
On your checklist you could include a number of things like:
Imagine ticking all your boxes everyday and then at the end of Ramadan looking back it would feel amazing and even looking at it as you go along would be an inspiration for yourself to do more and better yourself. During the month of Ramadan it's the month where you look improve your knowledge and ability to do better in number of ways. Ramadan surely is not just about looking at the time constantly to check when sunset will arrive for the fast to end. It is about giving in the act of charity, purifying yourself and pleasing Allah with all your acts of worship.
So guys go get your book and pen out and start writing your checklist.
